Brad Pitt ‘Money Ball’ Oscar Nominee

Brad Pitt has been nominated once again, this time for Best Actor for his role in ‘Money Ball’. The Hollywood Reporter was able to catch up with him for an interview that went over some interesting facts. They discussed his current thoughts on marriage, depression and drug abuse. That’s right during the interview, Brad Pitt admitted to wanting to get married, suffering from depression in his past and admits to being a prior drug addict.
Years ago when Brad and Angelina hooked up they let it be known that they would not merry till gay marriage was legal. However, their children are growing up and asking a lot of questions. Both Angelina and Brad have admitted now they they may just have to go through with it before gay marriage is legalized. If not for their own sake at least for their kids, and who could be mad about that.
Brad also talked about his issues with depression and drug abuse in the 1990′s. He told THR,“I got really sick of myself at the end of the 1990s: I was hiding out from the celebrity thing; I was smoking way too much dope; I was sitting on the couch and just turning into a doughnut; and I really got irritated with myself.”
Brad also went on to say,“I used to deal with depression, but I don’t now, not this decade — maybe last decade. But that’s also figuring out who you are.” He added, “I see it as a great education, as one of the seasons or a semester: ‘This semester I was majoring in depression.’ I was doing the same thing every night and numbing myself to sleep – the same routine: Couldn’t wait to get home and hide out. But that feeling of unease was growing and one night I just said, ‘This is a waste.’”
Brad also revealed that it was his trip to Yugoslavia and Morocco in the late ’90s that scared him straight, this after seeing “poverty to an extreme I had never witnessed before.” I guessed seeing just how bad other’s had it helped him to see just how fortunate he is. SOmetimes we have to step away from our surroundings and look at the lives around us to see things more clearly.
